CUSTOM FINNISH CHANDELIER FOR BREAK SOKOS HOTEL HIMOS
Break Sokos Hotel Himos provided a beautiful setting for a custom lighting project created for the hotel lobby. Designed by Franz Design and produced in collaboration with QUU Design, the chandelier was developed specifically for the scale, architecture and atmosphere of the space.
The final installation brings together 12 individual QUU pendant lights in one sculptural composition, creating a distinctive focal point at the heart of the hotel.
A STATEMENT CHANDELIER FOR THE HOTEL LOBBY
A hotel lobby is one of the first spaces guests experience, making lighting an important part of the atmosphere and identity of the interior.
For Break Sokos Hotel Himos, Franz Design created a chandelier composition using twelve QUU pendant lights. Suspended together at carefully considered heights, the individual lights form a larger installation that brings rhythm, warmth and visual interest to the open lobby.
The result has a strong presence without feeling heavy, allowing the chandelier to become part of the architecture while maintaining the light and sculptural character of QUU design.
A CUSTOM SOLID OAK CEILING CANOPY
An installation of this scale required a ceiling solution designed specifically for the project.
The large ceiling canopy was custom-made from solid oak by a local carpenter, bringing a natural warmth to the installation and creating a considered connection between the individual pendants and the surrounding interior.
The oak detail also gives the chandelier its own distinctive character, showing how materials and proportions can be adapted for larger hospitality projects.
FINNISH DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
The chandelier brings together contemporary interior design and Finnish craftsmanship. Each element contributes to a lighting installation created specifically for its surroundings rather than added to the space as an afterthought.
The combination of natural wood, glass and multiple pendant lights creates a sculptural yet balanced focal point that can be experienced from different parts of the lobby.
For larger interiors such as hotels, restaurants and public spaces, lighting can become much more than a functional element. It can help define the space, guide the eye and create an atmosphere guests remember.

The Break Sokos Hotel Himos project shows how QUU lighting can be adapted to larger-scale interiors through different compositions, suspension heights and custom-made details.
